About the project

Our project aims at changing your way of shopping for clothes in order to be more inclusive. It has a focus on including elements that will allow visually impaired people in becoming more independent.

As a result of our research on visual impairment, we were extremely intrigued by the lack of communication and awareness between people who have this impairment and others who don't.

This revealed a great opportunity to engage with both groups to promote a new shift in the way things are done and open up discussions on why this gap exists. So we decided to even the playing field and change a usual occurrence in our daily life, clothes shopping, and showcase how things can be changed and improved in order to include more people.

With this in mind, our project plans how a shop can change to do so: starting with its physical layout, how racks are showcased and how anyone can understand which item of clothing they are holding. This is possible using a visual language and color system that works within the elements of the project. In addition, we also have a set of queue cards as guidance to sales assistants in the store; each of them will give tips and illustrate an example on each type of interaction one might have with a client.

Finally this project aims at being used by any store and wants to gather them in a collaboration under one visual identity. This will help any customer know that a shop is making the effort to become more inclusive.
