About the project
How might we connect generations through traditional crafts and bring awareness of product value?
Our project, Tsukuru, is driven by a shared passion for co-creation with the young consumer inviting them to learn and apply traditional crafts through a hands-on building experience. Here we aim to impart knowledge and interest about crafts and craftsmanship through a shared experience of slowmade design and production processes as the user, through the provided material and toolkit, will assemble and personalize the individual object themselves. The project is sustainable material driven, as our material sourcing aligns with the broader goal of designing for a world with limited resources. In collaboration with local manufactures we source quality surplus material from production. This means that single products vary in color and material combinations as we design to adapt to the resources available.
