About the project

The “Turn, point, mime” book is a concept for a picture-based book for 2-3 years old children.

The book has a wheel that can be turned to change the facial expression on a character and a mirror. The idea is that the child can turn the wheel, identify the expression, and play with doing the expression herself in the mirror.

The project is exploring play with facial expressions as an inspiration for reflection and conversation about emotions for 2-3 years old children. The purpose is to develop the child’s understanding of emotions through play.

The overall approach was child-centered and for 8 weeks, weekly sessions including co-creation and co-design sessions with a two-year-old child had been carried out.
