What
“What is love?” is a speculative design project that questions marriage. The project was part of the Expo in the Designskolen and give visitor the opportunity to marry your best friend, roommate or anyone they share a strong connection with.
Why
The main critiques the project wants to address is: "Why is marriage only for lovers?" "Why are platonic relationships viewed less than sexual relationships?" & "Why is your lover your only life partner that is celebrated?"
How
The project breaks up traditional marriage into four different sections Bonding, Sharing, Family & Romance, allowing people to celebrate and unify different types of love. Each category has a different symbol and you are able to combine them within your marriage. In addition to this you are able to marry up to three people in different categories.
