Background
Industrial manufacturers often use conveyerbelts for repetative movement of components through out production lines, but the future of manufacturing is going to look very different. Flexible manufacturing, or matrix production, requires different need of moving components through production. Nord Modules provides full solutions based on autonomously driving robots for industry, to speed up the process of docking to deliver packages to cells in production while preserving battery power and load capacity.

About

MiR, or Mobile industrial Robots, delivers autonomous driving platforms for Top-Module manufacturers to add products to, Nord Modules is one of MiR’s certified producers of top modules and is making and developing top modules for moving packages, pallets and other goods in industrial settings. Usually the MiR and top-module docks at a station when transferring goods, which costs time and requires a complicated process to dock precisely. Nord Modules ambition is to transfer packages on the fly to increase efficiency.

Purpose

The object was to develop the product implementing user insights and feedback to shape the top-module, its use and form and to create a safe and efficient top module that would be readable and usable by anyone in industrial settings.
