About the project

Being an adult might be weird and awkward at moments. But you have to deal with it.

Notoy is a collection of objects (not toys) questioning whether it has to be this way. It explores the paradoxes of being an adult and acting like one. It might not make you feel better (in fact, quite the opposite). You are a grown-up, don’t forget that. It won’t always be fun.

Starting with trash culture and the idea of how things can be re-used and re-purposed this project evolved into deeper exploration of what waste is and what do we waste other than physical objects. It challenges the assumption that adults play is considered a waste of time by using found and ‘useless’ objects. Alongside the sarcastic tone of voice, the objects has been changed and altered in order to be critical.

For example the clock won't tell you the time but it will point out all the things you have to do as an adult. It also goes backwards, because sorry not sorry, time won't go backwards, you're only getting older.
