About the project

How might we create a tool for young adults to communicate with their partners about their insecurities and desires, in an intimate environment to improve their sex life?

SENS is a system of different textile shapes improving the knowledge about the sensible zones of the body of each partner, aiming to communicate more easily desires and emotions in an interactive way.

The conversational toolkit is composed of 5 pillows, each one with different textures and colors and filled with seeds and lavanda ‘s essence, the shapes are inspired by the placement of erogenous zones in human bodies. The aim of the toolkit is to materialize sensations and feelings connected to an intimate situation and make them explicit.

"During sex I feel vulnerable about communicating what I like and what I don't like"

"I would like to dig into the emotional aspect"

"Comes down to expectations about what sex is supposed to feel and look like"

The survey highlights the lack of emotional education among the participants and the lack of  knowledge of their partner’s bodies, because of communicational problems. Talking before or during a sexual intercourse feels like a shameful interruption, a weakness or a judgment. The expectations around having sex are heavy in every gender and sexual identity, and finding a way to talk about what we like and don’t like is key to feeling comfortable and open to the partner and improving the quality of sex life.
