290 applicants for Kolding School of Design’s Master’s programme: More designers with purpose
- It's wonderful to see so many of our own Bachelor’s students choosing to continue their studies here. It shows that they recognise the value of further deepening their expertise and developing their design skills in an environment where practice, form-giving, and experimentation go hand in hand with societal relevance," says Eva Kappel, Head of Education at Kolding School of Design.
The Master’s programme at Kolding School of Design allows students to further develop their design competencies through hands-on training, experimental projects, and collaborations with external partners, including internships. The programme is unique in that students combine their design discipline – Accessory Design, Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Communication Design, or Textile Design – with a specialisation in either Design for People, Design for Planet, or Design for Play. Through this approach, students refine their form-giving skills while exploring how design can create real value in the world.
- We're seeing a growing interest in using design as an active tool to tackle societal challenges. The students we admit to the Master’s programme are not only looking to improve their skills and refine their craft but also to apply their competencies where they can make a tangible difference, says Eva Kappel.
- When students combine their strong form-giving skills with a focus on either social design, sustainability, or play, they can develop solutions that address concrete needs in the world. It's not just about designing things better – it's about designing the right things, concludes Eva Kappel.
