Testing work clothes made of recycled textiles

Suggestions for the next generation of workwear
By Charlotte Melin

Employees at manned playgrounds in the Municipality of Copenhagen, as well as employees within the facility management company COOR, will test suggestions for the next generation of workwear.

Half of the work pants and jackets are based on mechanically recycled post-consumer textiles, while the other half is based on a conventional standard item. In this way, it is possible to compare durability and wear resistance.

The workwear has been created in an innovative collaboration that examines function and quality under the consortium Prototyping Partnership 2.0 between Wolkat, FRISTADSKANSAS LIMITED, Bacher Work Wear A/S, KEA - Københavns Erhvervsakademi COOR, Revaluate, Copenhagen Municipality Lifestyle & Design Cluster and Design School Kolding.

The test results can help pave the way for increased public demand for recycled textiles. Circular economy in practice.
