Students, politicians, entrepreneurs, and civilians will have their hands full when the science festival "Science in the City" opens in Copenhagen on Saturday. There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss and explore the topics of science and research and learn more about small and big mysteries of everyday life as researchers and students share their boundary pushing experiments and ground-breaking inventions in a fun and comprehensible way.

Representing Design School Kolding are five different projects. One of them is Rosa Tolnov Clausen's "Hands on Woven"; a project about craft and visually impaired weavers from the organisation Blindes Arbejde.

- I wanted to base the project on the competences of the visually impaired weavers. I wanted to create a concept that accommodates their disability rather than limits it and turns it into a resource, says Rosa Tolnov Clausen. After the weaving process, the textiles are made into pillows and equipped with a tag stating the name of the weaver and the choices the weaver has made in the process.

Also representing Design School Kolding are Allan Schmidt with The Dilemma Machine, Vibeke Risberg and Anne Louise Bang and others with Design for a Change, Anne Corlin with Wayfinding and the sustainability project Living Lightly

"Science in the City" takes place from 21 - 26 June 2014 in Dansehallerne, Carlsberg.
