Dialogue across differences

Ancient craft techniques were the focus of attention when students from KADK and women artisans from Marocco paid a visit
By Katrine Worsøe

Since 2008, MA students from the Royal Academy’s Design School in Copenhagen (KADK) have been able to participate in design-oriented development projects in Marocco and Tunesia. The students have worked to improve the situation for women artisans in terms of business and society in general.

The overall goal is for students to learn production skills in third-world countries and to become familiar with social design and sustainable design.

The day began with a lecture followed by a workshop where various techniques were shared and tested.
