Business idea across design programmes
The collaboration between students from different universities illustrates the excellent study environment across higher degree programmes in Kolding and the enterprising study culture.
- Last year I had the good luck of having two talented students from Design School Kolding move into my flatshare. Not only did we become friends, they also made me think: Can I help artists who would like to sell their works but don't have the time and resources to spend on administrative issues?
This is the brief version of Natascha Ulrich's story behind the business idea, which she has been working on for about a year and just realised in the form of Ally Store, which sells poster art by upcoming artists.
Natascha Ulrich sells the artists' best pieces and they share the profit. This allows the artists to focus entirely on their art and make money at the same time. The first collection is online and consists of pieces by four artists. Two of them, Asbjørn Ølgaard and Mark Busch, study at Design School Kolding.
Asbjørn Ølgaard studies Industrial Design and has been Natascha Ulrich's dialogue partner concerning pricing, profit sharing and visual brand identity. He says:
- It's super cool to be part of Ally Store! As an artist it's incredibly motivating and important to have a partner onboard who supports you and shares your values.
Mark Busch, who studies Communications Design, is also happy about the new collaboration:
- It's fortunate that you are able to meet different people who have other talents and interests than you, and you are then able to work across schools.
Ally Store was established in collaboration with Statup Station.
