This year, Design School Kolding has experienced an increased interest in its degree programmes. Particularly the number of applicants for the MA programme has been exceptionally high with many international applicants. A staggering 72 of the 89 applicants came from abroad. Now the difficult process of selecting the right students has finished and Design School Kolding is ready to welcome a total of 71 talented MA students from countries such as China, Taiwan, India, Iran, Italy, France, Finland and of course Denmark.

International exchange and collaboration
The international exchange runs both ways. Design School Kolding gives great priority to internationalisation and collaborates with a number of international universities and institutions. For instance, the school has set up outposts in Shanghai at Tongji University and in Ghana at the university KNUST in Kumasi.

Rector Elsebeth Gerner Nielsen says:
- We look forward to welcoming that many international MA students. Their presence will definitely be a positive influence on the school and the education. Design knows no boundaries. On the contrary. The best design education and the best design ideas come from cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary collaboration. We see that all the time and it is something which we cultivate: via student and teacher exchange programmes, study programmes and internships abroad, and not least via our annual international design camp where companies, various professions, students and stakeholders from around the world gather to solve common challenges. Companies need people who know the world and this is what we train at Design School Kolding
