Working with Bestseller
Being able to design a collection for a specific brand is a fundamental discipline for a designer. Therefore, Design School Kolding gave 32 students the task of designing a sustainable collection for a specific company. 2/3 of them jumped at the opportunity to work with major fashion brand Bestseller’s popular brand Vero Moda.
The course ‘Collection with a company’ focused on all aspects of designing for a brand: styles and materials, systems and production, business and communication strategies. So there was plenty of learning involved for the students from Textile Design, Fashion Design, Industrial Design or Communication Design, as they worked with e.g. return systems for clothes, recycling, upcycling, long lasting/slow fashion, and user-awareness.
Bestseller’s Global HR Manager Katharina Frydensbjerg Poulsen contributed to the course along with a Bestseller designer and a person with responsibilities in the area of environment. They were also present on Friday 18 December when the students made their final presentations.
Teachers: Pernille Winther, Helle Graabæk and Lykke Bloch Kjær, among others.
