Meet Design for People alumnus Ksenia Grigoryeva
Where do you work at the moment? What is your role and what are your tasks?
After I graduated from Design School Kolding, I worked for a year as a Graphic Designer at Copenhagen Capacity, a public organization that attracts international companies, investment, and talent to Denmark. During my time there I’ve helped to update the company's visual identity and website.
Recently I’ve embarked on a new adventure as a Visual Designer at UNOPS. My daily tasks as a Visual Designer include ensuring that all the materials are aligned with the branding and accessibility guidelines, have a clear message and are visually appealing. I’m in charge of producing visuals for print and digital materials, editorial design and ad hoc.
What role has the Design for People master’s programme played in getting you where you are today?
The Design for People programme gave me confidence in my abilities as a designer. I’ve learned a lot from other design students, which gave me inspiration and tools to further pursue my career. I was also able to work on a lot of fun projects, which I could include in my portfolio.
What is your favorite memory from Design School Kolding?
Defending my thesis and the relief that followed.
Do you have any advice to give to someone undertaking this educational path?
My advice would be to not be afraid to make mistakes and share your work with others. If I had to start over, I think I would also try to use the school's workshops and facilities more, as well as experiment and have fun without focusing too much on the outcome.
