Art Strengthens the Mind

With her art exhibit, curated by works from the art school Snurretoppen, Joan Glintborg Vissing demonstrates that artists can acquire a new identity as imaginative creators with a narrative of the heart rather than the obvious label, ‘mentally disabled’. The exhibition challenges people’s reluctance to deal with those who are ‘different’ and aims to convince politicians and other stakeholders that working with art gives quality of life and renewed strength to citizens with challenges.
