Background
The project is inspired by a rethinking of flowers as naturally beautiful yet ephemeral resources. In our daily lives, flowers are often used as a medium to express emotions during special occasions.

Sustainable flower material design: rebloom toolkit

However, once the flowers wilt, they are considered waste, and most consumer's experiences are limited by the “disposable” lifecycle of fresh flowers. Currently, users lack effective ways to interact with and reuse flowers, typically only dealing with these materials after they wilt, unable to preserve the associated emotions and memories in a lasting manner.

The rebloom project aims to explore a solution that transforms the way users interact with and repurposes flowers. When purchasing flowers from a shop, customers can also buy the rebloom toolkit as an additional gift. Recipients use the toolkit at home to interact with flowers, then bring them to workshops to create new, meaningful items.

The industry generates overlooked waste that can be repurposed by the rebloom toolkit, exploring the new value of floral materials through creative engagement.
