Student project
FOLD – UNFOLD
Background
In this project, the designer works with ‘soft architecture’, investigating how, through form-fixed textiles, she can create 3D walls and room dividers, which contribute to a sensuous atmosphere in space.
FOLD – UNFOLD
The purpose is to present a contrast to the hard materials such as concrete, stone and wood that are most often used in architecture. The designer uses the Japanese folding technique, origami, experimenting with transparency, relief, patterns and colours in order to modify the experience of the room and its atmosphere. The project has been developed with supervision from Stine Find Osther from the Danish textile company Kvadrat.
