Background
Based on her own portrait paintings Filippa Geslin has created ‘Head Too Big’ and ‘Hands Too Small’, an artistic clothing collection that reflects the sense of loneliness and powerlessness many, especially young people, have experienced during the coronavirus pandemic.
Head Too Big – Hands Too Small
The psychological states associated with lockdown are echoed in body positions and postures, with a special focus on the hands and head and the way we might use our hands to support a ‘heavy’ head. By locking the wearer in and restricting their movements, the clothes evoke the mental and physical confinement of lockdown.
