Background
While the corseted outfit is perceived as feminine and restrictive, the suit is perceived as masculine. But why does femininity equal limitation and limitation equal femininity? And why is masculinity liberating and liberation masculine?

That is the question the fashion designer asks in her project, which is technically focused on tight lacing as a way of shaping clothes. Conceptually, the project explores women's liberation and women's oppression through an investigation of symbolically limiting and liberating clothing.
