is Is itfeasible to manufacture furniture from pizza trays, flour bags and other food packaging?
Denmark is Europe's largest producer of household waste per capita. The designer investigates whether it is feasible to manufacture furniture from pizza trays, flour bags and other food packaging that would otherwise have to be incinerated. He experiments with the fibres in the material, which are malleable while wet and subsequently solidify into a hard material. The objective of the project is to both develop and design a piece of furniture from this new material.
