Background
Many refugees often have a lot of emotional baggage in the form of violent experiences, and they can be severely traumatised when they arrive in a new country to apply for asylum.
Play for Refugee Families
As part of a 5-year integration project in Kolding Municipality, Manos Kasapakis has developed a kit that is intended to inspire refugee families to engage in playful experiences in their home with the aim of strengthening their sense of solidarity. The play kit consists of a number of wooden figures that encourage interaction and create a safe space where the family has an opportunity to express feelings that can otherwise be difficult to put into words.
