Background
Textile waste is a major environmental issue. This project addresses the challenge by proposing a circular design approach utilizing mycelium, the root structure of fungi, for degrading textile waste and repurposing it into valuable resources.

Mycelium x textile waste

Mycelium-based technology is a new field that combines biology and design. By targeting the degradation of cellulose-based fibers, like cotton, viscose, modal, etc., this process can be a viable option for separating intricate textile blends, which are currently difficult to recycle.
