Background
Society needs to be more aware of the consequences of sexual abuse because victims experience being divided between an apparently well-functioning everyday life and the suppressed impacts of the trauma.
Front Back Jewellery
Accessory designer Eimile Zalubaite has gained insight into victims' experiences through interviews after which she has visualised their feelings in jewellery: a bracelet, a brooch and a pendant, all with two sides. The wearer can decide for herself whether to turn the beautiful side out or show the side that expresses difficult feelings such as guilt, shame or disgust.
