Johanne Høgh believes that the answer to many of the design challenges we are currently grappling with can be found in ancient techniques and their underlying philosophies.
Ancient techniques solve present-day challenges
Reviving sprang, a 5000-year-old weaving/braiding method, she uses the craft technique to play with light and shadow as inspiration for contemporary architecture. She employs the natural materials of linen, hemp and nettle in her project, which was created in collaboration with the textile designer and certified ‘Master of linen’ Karin Carlander.
