Background
When a new product is manufactured, the production process will often have a very large impact on how sustainable the product really is.
Production process and sustainable products
Through a series of interviews, the designer has investigated three phases of production and thus gained insight into what affects sustainability. Based on this knowledge, she has designed a product within the area of interior design and the furniture industry, which is an expression of a production-driven design with a focus on sustainability. For example, she incorporates the life cycle of the tools and machinery used in the production, including casts.
