Sideline Magazine

WHAT?
Sideline Magazine is a platform that celebrates women in sports and addresses the challenge of gender inequality through a social and communication design perspective.

HOW?
The project utilizes both research-based and design-based approaches, including user interviews and participatory design workshops to generate well-informed insights regarding gender inequalities in sports from as many perspectives as possible.

WHY?
Despite the significant rise in the popularity of women's sports, gender inequalities within the realm of sports still persist. Even in 2020, problems like access to sports, equal pay, media coverage and having decision making roles in the administration continue. Currently, only 3.2 percent of sports coverage is dedicated to female athletes.
