Background
As children grow, they outgrow their shoes. This means that many pairs of children's shoes are not recycled, and instead they are incinerated or buried. We need alternative ways of producing shoes that take into account both fit and recycling.
The shoe that fits all feet
In collaboration with Hummel Kids, Victor Minh Vu has designed a dD-printet show made from a 3D-scan of the child's foot. With the imprint, you choose the model that suits the child and place the order. The shoe is then 3D-printed at the manufacturer and sent to the customer. When the shoe is worn or does not fit the child anymore, it is sent back and melted into new material and new shoes.
