Carpets on a Circular Journey. Old bicycle tubes. Jeans worn to rags. Surplus yarn from the Danish carpet industry and recycled nylon from fishing nets.
TAXIDIA
Gabriella Constantinou adds a single new material, hemp, and gives new life to the remnants in the form of hand-woven sustainable carpets. The collection is called Taxidia, which is Greek for "travel" and has been inspired by a number of people's best moments from a journey. The carpets’ journey in the circular economy continues when the used carpets are returned, taken apart and included in the weaving of new carpets.
