Background
‘Memory of Ice’ focuses on the polar ice melts, and the designer wants us to reflect on what happens if the ice disappears completely. Will we then be left with only the memory of what once was?

The Memory of Ice

WHAT?
A textile installation focusing of global warming.

HOW?
By experimenting with textiles, light, colours and expressions Thea Brandt Warning has created an installation that reminds us of the global climate crisis and the need to protect the environment.

WHY?
The mean global temperature has increased by approx. 0.8 °C since the year 1900. If this upsurge continues the UN Climate Panel predicts a heat rise of 4.9 °C by the year 2100. ‘Memory of Ice’ focuses on the polar ice melts, and the designer wants us to reflect on what happens if the ice disappears completely. Will we then be left with only the memory of what once was?
