WASTE NOT

When companies and people discard clothing, it is not only a loss of materials but a massive waste of resources, as most of the clothing has approximately 70 % of its lifespan left and is still suitable to be reused. To show this missed potential, Indrė Paulina Žvirzdytė upcycles pre-/post-consumer textile waste using craftsmanship techniques such as crocheting and conducts research into the reactions of potential users. This has resulted in an idea for a system that can help textile or clothing brands to begin upcycling.
